Dry Year Conservation

The winter rainy season has officially ended and the spring showers failed to arrive. This means nearly the entire state of California is entering into a drought. Locally, both Contra Costa Water District (our wholesale water agency) and Diablo Water District have made water supply portfolio investments to be more resilient to droughts. These investments include conservation programs, Los Vaqueros Reservoir, multiple water intakes from the Delta, and local groundwater production wells.

Even with these investments, we encourage our customers to eliminate waste and install water efficient fixtures. We can practice water efficiency year-round and make a difference by finding and fixing leaks, taking shorter showers, and installing climate-friendly landscapes.
