How to Turn Off Your Water
If you need to shut off your water at the water meter, you must call the District and our staff will turn off the water for you.
Turning off water at the backflow device
There are two shut-off valves on the backflow device, but only the valve closest to your house can be shut off. If you shut the valve off that is nearest to the water meter, the District may need to re-test your device and charge a test fee.
Turning off water at the house valve
Typically, there is a valve on the pipe where the water line rises from the ground and enters your home (next to the front door). This valve will shut off water to your house and any downstream plumbing.
